MOVING FROM HOME (OR ANOTHER LAB) TO OURS

We’re so proud of you: It’s time to level up! You’ve done so much and come so far already. Look at you.

Moving from making your products at home to the lab can be an arduous and seemingly insurmountable task. But trust us, we have tons of experience working with beauty founders to move their coveted recipes from small batch in-house production to fully replicable, lab production.

A few things you’ll need here

If your formulation is ready, replicable, stable and adequately preserved (learn more), you’re in business! For a quote, please fill out our contract manufacturing form.

1.STANDARDIZED FORMULATION

A standardized formulation (learn more), with ingredients tradenames/INCI and percentages by weight of each ingredient, including mixing instructions. If you do not have this, please work on creating it, book a chemist consult for more assistance, or book lab time to get bench time assistance.

2. TESTING DOCUMENTATION

At a minimum stability testing, but for products with an aqueous (water) phase, we will need PET testing results as well. Specialty testing (like RIPT or ocular) may be required for brands in CAN/EU or for products for specific uses (babies, sensitive areas, around the eyes). If you do not have these testing completed, we can assist! Learn more about tests and costs here.

The True Cost Of Moving From Home To The Lab

The total cost of moving from home batching to the lab can deter a lot of founders from making the move, but trust us, it’s one that you must make (hopefully sooner rather than later) if you want to be a truly successful brand! Every minute you spend batching/filling at home is taking away precious resources from the growth and development of your brand. Additionally, you could be unknowingly putting your customers (and therefore your business/finances) at risk by selling products that are not shelf stable or worse - inadequately preserved.

Lab time is billed by the hour and testing rates are flat (per time, per product). For a total quote and game plan, get in touch.
