Getting Started:

  • The best place to start learning about how to start your beauty brand and what it will take is under our “start here” tab.

    We walk through all the steps with you: How to choose the best manufacturing method, testing, certifications, packaging and design and more!

    Once you have ordered samples and decided on products, shoot us an email or give us a call to get started!

  • With so many options to choose from, can be difficult, that’s for sure. The best way to start is with samples!

    For colors, first browse the clean color cosmetics catalog to view the colors available for each base formula. Once you find the colors you want, go to the “clean color” tab and find the product(s). Choose your colors. Add to cart.

    For skincare products, go to the “clean skincare” tab and browse. Add the products you want to choose from cart. If you want to see everything laid out first, browse our Green + Clean catalog.

    For packaging samples, go to the “packaging” tab and browse. Add the packagings you want to try, in the size and color(s) you want (if applicable) to cart. To view all packaging options, first browse our [packaging catalog!

  • You’d be amazed at how many private label products are sold in national retailers. You have no idea from seeing the product whether its a custom formula or not. Branding and marketing will set your brand world aparts from others. For help on differentiating factors, read the product descriptions, ingredients and benefits on each product page or in the catalog, or ask your rep.

    With our CPC program we offer customization of bases, so you can set your product formulation, concept and ingredient list apart from other brands' easily.

    Don’t use the “private label” excuse as a crutch! No one is holding you back but yourself.

  • Don’t worry, we love a passionate entrepreneur! Even though you’re new to the process, it doesn’t mean you have to let all that passion and ambition go to waste. Here at Genie Supply, we love supporting people. Lucky for you, our blog is active and always trying to answer your potential questions. We have everything from learning the lingo to cosmetics testing to packaging!

Manufacturing Costs

  • We do have pricing available to share on all private label products. Please set up and account with us by emailing us at customerservice@geniesupply.com and your rep can send you the pricing list.

    As for MOQ, we don’t technically have an MOQ, though we do charge a small order fee for pilot orders (the fee is on a sliding scale, inversely related to quantity) to help cover our costs. Once you hit 2000 pcs / product, the small order fee disappears.

  • This depends entirely on your manufacturing route (private label, custom product creation, custom development) and opening order. It can be anywhere from $2500 to sky’s the limit. Visit our “time and cost comparison” page under the “start here” tab to see the different approximate costs of each route. Keep in mind that this is the price range per product at the opening order size.

  • Simply put, we make better products with better ingredients.

    We are not focused on creating the cheapest products with the highest margins. We are on a mission to bring clean beauty to the masses. The more people that sell / use clean beauty, the better. Not only do we offer private label to a variety of clients for various uses, but we also offer to customize every private label product as part of your order - something other labs are charging thousands upfront for.

    Additionally, we’re not focused on putting on “fast skincare”. We only create formulations that we believe in, that work. Quality comes with a price tag. We stand behind the products we make.

    Lucky for you, because these formulations are so amazing, there’s still a 4-10x markup available, even at our lowest MOQ.

About Customizations

  • Although we can assist with very basic design or turning your designs into “ready for manufacturing designs” we don’t offer a full suite of branding and design work at this time.

    For ideas on affordable ways to find a designer, please read Q1 in our Q&A here. If you have your logo and product name ready, we can assist with getting the designs into printing shape. We need your help to proof the designs carefully before approving! Once approved, we cannot make any changes without incurring fees.

    We’ve also put together a page to walk you through how dielines for screenprinting + boxes work, and an FDA guideline cheat sheet for cosmetic labeling.

    Additionally, we do not offer website creation services at this time. Check our Shopify or Squarespace for easy plug + play options!

  • We offer custom colors on both packaging ($$) and cosmetics! If you are ordering a package with custom colors (fees apply $), we ask that you choose a Pantone Color for the color or send a sample to us in the mail to color match. We have outlined this process step by step here.

  • The FDA asks brands to prove that their products will be safe for general use. However, the FDA does not set guidelines about which tests need to be performed for your products to be deemed “safe” for use. On any private label products, we will go through the necessary testings to prove safety. For custom formulating, we will recommend safety testing(s) and can even perform the tests for you. Your retailer may require additional testings (e.g. RIPT in the EU).

    For insurance, we can add any brand that we manufacture for as an “additional insured” to our liability policy. However, we still recommend that your company carries its own primary general liability insurance, as this is only an additional insured or secondary policy.

About Genie Supply

  • Currently, retailers set the standard on what “clean” means, so we use their standards to define our products as well. Look for the icons! The products can and do work as well as any other products, but there may be new or interesting textures or features that you haven’t encountered anywhere else yet, so keep an open mind.

  • Although we would love to show you each and every project we work on here, most of the things we work on are under wraps. We don’t want to steal the brand’s thunder. They can decide when and where they reveal their product launches. We’re just in the background, quietly making magic happen.

The Not So Fun Stuff

  • In order to serve business customers - and business customers only - we will hold all orders until EIN is verified and/or a sales rep is able to have an initial conversation and create an account for you. No other site orders will be honored.

  • All products are made on a “just in time” manufacturing model - custom for you. Due to this, we cannot offer refunds, returns or exchanges. For more details on your full order and any contingencies or fringe cases, please refer to your order contract (Master Supply Agreement) and SOW (Statement of Work).
