When you choose private label, you can get started quickly and with a low MOQ (at Genie Supply, there’s no true MOQ but there is a small order fee for under below 2000 pcs), so your go-to-market time is short.

CUSTOM FORMULATING
Congratulations on choosing the most challenging, but rewarding, path. In comparison to customized private label, custom formulating requires more time, money, and patience depending on the complexity of the project. No worries, good things come to those who wait! Custom formulation also means you’re potentially looking for something that hasn’t been created - ever. That’s major. Just like private labeling (PL), choosing a cosmetics lab is important. However, unlike PL, you’re not necessarily entering a long-term relationship with a lab. R&D and manufacturing are treated separately here.
The best thing about custom formulating with Genie Supply? After we finalize the formula (and after testing), you’re free to go wherever you want for contract manufacturing. You own the formula and there is no obligation to stick with us (though we would be more than happy to continue working with you!).

CONTRACT MANUFACTURING
This means that you already own your completed formulation and you’re ready for our lab to replicate it en masse (1000 pcs+). For contract manufacturing, you already own the formula and have the exact ingredients with percentages by weight and full mixing instructions. All our lab will do is use your instructions to plug and play. COSMETIC TESTING
All the routes mentioned above require testing! If you choose private labeling, all the necessary tests for production have already been performed! If you have a formulation that has already been created and is ready for manufacture, make sure the proper testing has been performed.
Beauty products are tested to ensure the safety of the product to the user and determine the shelf life of the product. Each and every batch of a beauty product should be tested to ensure no contaminates have infiltrated the formulation. Better safe than sorry, right?
